Our friend Tim Feavel with his beautiful Kodiak Brown bear

Our friend Tim Feavel with his beautiful Kodiak Brown bear-Submitted by John Schaake

This big boar was between 9’ and 9.5” and was aged at 25 years old by the Kodiak bear biologist. His skull measured a hair under 28”, just under the magic number for the B&C book. This was probably this bear’s last winter as he had absolutely no fat on him and his teeth were rotten and broken. If anyone deserved a successful hunt, it was Tim after his service in Iraq that took him away for two hunting seasons up here. Considering there were only 2 fall Kodiak bear permits available in Zachar Bay, one couldn’t have gone to a more deserving hunter. Fall 2007
