Stevens, Ken Onion Mountain Harebell (Campanula lasiocarpa) This lovely member of the bluebell
family grows on rocky alpine slopes and ridges. It blooms in July and August. Mountain harebell has small,
oblong, toothed leaves at base becoming narrow up the stem. Flowers are
violet-blue, upright bells, usually singular, and very large for the size
of the plant. |
Erin Wright, wife of the famous ocean charter Captain and Marlin magazine writer Peter Wright with a beautiful Kenai river rainbow trout. Erin is quite an accomplished angler and certainly kept us all on our toes.
Me and my wife Camille with a beautiful 24" kenai River rainbow trout that she landed. Camille had her hands full with the ultra light fishing rod she was using. All of the rainbow trout were caught and released during the trip.
Sonny Traxinger with a beautiful 30" + Kenai River rainbow trout.
Arctic Lupine (Lipinus Arcticus) Arctic Lupine is one of Alaska’s most beautiful plants. The Lupine is also one of Alaska’s poisonous plants if eaten. Lupines have a number of large, stout, flower stalks, that look hairy in bud. The flowers are typically blue, but can be sometimes shadowed with pink or white. They bloom in June to late July and can grow to about 16 inches tall. Lupines are pollinated by bees, which are attracted to the lovely colorful flowers. The basal leaves have long stems and 5 to 10 pointy, oval, leaflets that make them look like tiny palm trees.
