Black Bear Hunting
BLACK RIVER HUNTING CAMPS is now offering a
special black bear hunt in one of our remote Talkeetna Mountain areas.
Thanks to the high numbers of black bears in the area BRHC is now
offering two spring black bear hunts. The bag limit set by the Alaska
Department of Fish and Game is a generous three black bears per year. Over
the past couple of seasons we have seen hunts with multiple opportunities
at bagging three black bears on a seven day hunt.

Since
black bear hunting is common place in Alaska, we have decided to add
uniqueness to this hunt that hasn’t been found anywhere! As a bonus to the
three black bear limit we are allowing hunters the chance at an incidental
grizzly for no charge! During the course of your black bear hunt, if a
grizzly shows up there is no trophy fee or hidden costs for harvesting the
Grizzly! As of now, every spring bear hunter has seen grizzly on their
hunts. At BRHC we pride ourselves in separating our business from

Hunting
spring black bears consist of glassing clearings and ridge lines for
traveling bears. Late May and early June are prime time for the bears
breeding season, as a result of that the bears tend to travel more, making
them more vulnerable. Long daylight hours make this a great hunt in some
of the most beautiful country in Alaska. All hunts are conducted from
comfortable tent camps, based on ridge tops and lake shores. Black bears
in this region of Alaska tend to be a glossy black and range from 5 ½ foot
to seven foot. A few bears over seven foot have been taken and are seen
each year.
