Ken Onion Custom Knife Alaska Black bear hunt
In cooperation with Top Gun Treks and the Tyonek Native Corporation, in the spring of 2010 15 Wounded Service members were hosted on an Alaska black bear hunt at Tyonek lodge in Alaska. Our hunters were joined by representatives from sponsor companies and celebrities to assist and share in the joy of celebrating our heroes as well as assist in their outdoor rehabilitation. The Tyonek Native Corp has accomplished extensive renovations that allow us the opportunity to take even our paralyzed Service members into this somewhat remote lodge to enjoy Alaska’s outdoors as well as have a chance at an Alaska black bear in this well known high bear population area of the state. By the end of the hunt 22 black bears had been taken and a lifetime of memories, relationships and healing had begun. Below are just a few of the hundreds of pictures taken during the hunt, more will be posted shortly as new pages are developed.
