A great shot of Carl as he catches a quick nap, this is a very demanding hunt for all involved. Because of the still fairly long days in Alaska our hunters are up at 3am and are back in their hotel rooms around 11pm every night leaving very little time to sleep during the 5 day hunt.

A moose on the far side of the back pond as seen from the blind, the moose is close to 300 yards out and although it is a legal 1.5 year old bull the hunter is uncomfortable with the shot and decides to wait for a closer shot should it present itself.

I had to include this shot of myself and my old friend Bob Hill, Bob and I were stationed together at Eielson Air Force base in North Pole, AK back in the early 1980's and we are still continually in touch and Bob has become an active supporter and volunteer for the PVA Heritage Fund.

On day three of the hunt our hunters decided to play tourist and give the volunteers a much needed break and the opportunity to catch up on their sleep. This photo was taken just outside of Fairbanks in Fox, Alaska next to the Alaska pipeline.
